SHF Projects 99-M2-003 & 00-01-046

The Grafton multi-residential building (left) is surrounded by scaffolding during exterior restoration work funded in part by a State Historical Fund (SHF) grant. The nonprofit organization, Uptown Partnership, sponsored the Grafton Homeowner's Association successful grant application for exterior painting, re-roofing, interior hallway restoration and masonry treatment based on the findings of a previous Historic Structure Assessment from Cocallas and Hoskin Architects.

Miguel & Ivan Valdez along with Manual Amayan. While the Rand Corp served as the general contractor on this project, painters Miguel & Ivan Valdez along with Manual Amayan (right) from subcontractor Family Traditions, take advantage of a reasonably warm day to continue exterior paint preparation work on the elaborate dormers of The Grafton's distinctive mansard roof. Other subcontractors include B&M Roofing and masonry contractor, Chris Wolf, of Building Restoration Specialties.

The Grafton is significant for its eclectic architecture and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
