ARCHAIC PERIOD ARCHITECTURAL SITES IN COLORADO
MULTIPLE PROPERTY SUBMISSION
These architectural resources date from the Archaic Period (circa
7000BC to AD1) and represent the archaic stage in Colorado. This
stage is generalized by a lifestyle of hunting and gathering. The
architectural resources include ruins of several types of human
construction in association with various artifacts. Most frequently
occurring are pit structures, timbered lodges, surface mud-and-stick
buildings, and surface masonry buildings. (Accepted by National
